NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR- The Northwest Arkansas Naturals continued their success on the road getting seven strong innigs from Justin Marks and a home run from Johnny Whittleman as they topped the Arkansas Travlers 1-0 on Friday night. The win is the sixth straight for the Naturals and the fifth in a row away from Arvest Ballpark.

The Naturals (24-17) took the lead in the top of the fourth inning getting a home run off the bat of Whittleman. The home run was the seventh of the year for Whittleman and came on the first pitch he saw from Travelers' (16-25) starter Eddie McKiernan. The shot to center field put the Naturals on top 1-0.

McKiernan (3-2) turned in a solid start going six innings allowing four hits and just one run, while striking out four. Caleb Graham took over in the seventh inning and worked a scoreless pair of innings to keep it a 1-0 game entering the ninth.

Marks (3-1) turned in his best outing of the season going seven innings scattering three hits while walking two and fanning three. The outing was the longest of the season for Marks. Kendal Volz took over for Marks in the eighth inning and worked around a two-out single to keep the Naturals in front. Volz finished off the ninth inning as well to earn his sixth save of the season.

The Naturals will continue their series against the Travelers tomorrow night at 7:05 PM. Elisaul Pimentel will take the hill for Northwest Arkansas (1-1, 8.24) against AJ Schugel (1-4, 3.18). The game can be heard on ESPN 92.1 The Ticket.
