
Nashville Soccer Club Falls to FC Cincinnati 3-2 in 120 Minute Preseason Friendly

Clearwater, Fla. - Nashville Soccer Club continued its 2022 Major League Soccer preseason with a 120-minute match with FC Cincinnati in Clearwater, Fla. on Tuesday. Luke Haakenson and Alex Muyl notched both goals for Nashville SC this afternoon in a 3-2 defeat.
Nashville SC struck first within the first five minutes of the game after Randall Leal delivered a ball across the pitch to Alex Muyl on the near side. Muyl delivered a cross in the box that found the head of forward Luke Haakenson striking gold in the fourth minute of play.
FC Cincinnati answered quickly with a goal in the sixth minute as the two sides finished the first 45 tied at one. Cincinnati opened the second half with a goal in the 47thminute to take a 2-1 lead.
Nashville SC responded in the 50th minute after Muyl finished home a second chance opportunity after Cincinnati's keeper created a half clearance off a Nashville SC set piece. Muyl collected the rebound and slotted home the chance to tie the contest at two.
Goalkeeper Joe Willis made two emphatic saves in the second half of the contest before Cincinnati retook the lead 3-2 with a goal in the 100th minute that found the top corner of the net.

The Muyl Deal: Alex Muyl was involved in both Nashville SC goals today with an assist on the opening goal and found the back of the net to start the second half. This was Muyl's first goal and assist of the 2022 preseason.
Preseason History: Nashville SC now owns an overall MLS preseason record to 6W-2L-2D with a goal-differential of 20-10.
2022 Regular Season Opener: Nashville SC returns to Music City next week to prepare for the 2022 MLS regular season opener on Feb. 27 as the Boys in Gold travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on Seattle Sounders FC for the first time in club history.
