From the Notes
Whiffing in May: Nashville batters have struck out 288 times this month, the most of any single month since 2005. The previous high was 259 in May 2017 and May 2008. The 288 strikeouts this month are the most in the Pacific Coast League, ahead of Sacramento's 280 and El Paso's 275.
Give Me A Pair: BJ Boyd and Nick Martini each collected a pair of hits yesterday and each have 11 multi-hit games, the most among active players. Dustin Fowler, who was recalled by Oakland on May 9 still leads the team with 14 multi-hit games.
Not My Inheritance: Jake Sanchez came on in relief of Jarret Martin and inherited the bases loaded in the sixth inning and left all three runners stranded. It was the fourth time this season a Nashville relief pitcher has come on with the bases loaded and second time no inherited runners scored. Simon Castro achieved the same feat on April 17 at Iowa
Two is Company, Not the Good Kind: Last night the Honky Tonks surrendered two home runs. They are now 0-5 when allowing at least two home runs in a game.
Walking the Line: Nashville matched a season-high by walking eight batters last night. Eric Jokisch and Jarret Martin each walked four. It was the fourth time this season Nashville has walked eight batters in a game. They also did so on April 6 at New Orleans, April 12 vs. Iowa, and April 29 vs. New Orleans.
