Chris Narveson extended his scoreless inning streak to 15 innings after pitching seven shutout frames for the Nashville Sounds in a 3-0 win over the Tucson Padres Tuesday at Greer Stadium. The Padres went 2-6 during their road trip to Nashville and Memphis.
Hunter Morris hit a two-run homer in the first inning to give the Sounds an early 2-0 advantage. The home run was Morris' 22nd of the season, one behind the league lead. Nashville added a run in the fifth on Eugenio Velez's RBI double to right field.
Narveson earned his fourth win of the season, scattering two hits and two walks in seven innings. The left-hander struck out eight and did not allow a Padre to reach second base. Jesus Sanchez recorded his fourth save with a scoreless ninth to complete the shutout for Nashville.
Matt Andriese took the loss after allowing three runs on five hits in five innings of work. The Padres collected three hits in the game, one each from Mike Wilson, Cody Decker and Ben Francisco. The Padres do not play Wednesday.
