Nailers Announce Toys for Tots Campaign

Wheeling, WV â The Wheeling Nailers have announced today that they will kick off their Toys for Tots campaign with a Teddy Bear Toss on Friday, December 13th against the Dayton Bombers.
The Wheeling Nailers in cooperation with the United States Marines will kick off their Toys for Tots campaign on Friday, December 13th with the annual Teddy Bear Toss.
The Teddy Bear Toss consists of fans throwing a new Teddy Bear or other stuffed animal on the ice as soon as the Nailers score their first goal. All stuffed toys are then donated to the Toys for Tots campaign on behalf of the Wheeling Nailers and the U.S. Marines.
The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help needy children throughout the Ohio Valley experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of our nation's most valuable natural resource - our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; to contribute to better communities in the future.
"The Nailers are thrilled to provide our home games as a venue to help the U.S. Marines with their annual Toys for Tots campaign," stated Fred Traynor, Chief Operating Officer of the Wheeling Nailers.
The Wheeling Nailers host the Johnstown Chiefs Thanksgiving night at 7pm in the Wheeling Civic Center. The first 1,500 fans 14 and under will receive a Nailers School Binder courtesy of The Intelligencer and the Wheeling News-Register. The Nailers will then host the Reading Royals on Saturday November 30th at 7:30pm. Tickets for both games are available at the Civic Center Box Office.
