Washington Mystics News Release

Washington, D.C- The Washington Mystics have partnered with the United Nations to raise fund for their foundation, Nothing but Nets. Washington will host its Nothing but Nets night on Tuesday, July 8th at the Verizon Center when the team plays conference rival, Indiana Fever at 7:00 pm.

Every year between 350 - 500 million people are infected with malaria, and over one million of those infected die from the disease. Long lasting insecticide-treated bed nets (LLINs) can lower malaria transmission by up to 90 percent. The Mystics are encouraging everyone to join their Netraiser team today by logging on http://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?registrationID=410519 and by donating to the UN's initiative. Join the Washington Mystics and send a net, save a life.

Nothing But Nets is a global, grassroots campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of the children in Africa. A donation of $10 to Nothing But Nets covers the cost of purchasing a bed net, distributing it and educating communities on its use.

The Washington Mystics organization is dedicated to providing affordable entertainment, serving as an impactful community partner and maintaining accessibility to positive female role models. Supported by passionate fans, the Mystics are elite, hardworking athletes continually striving to win a Championship. Season tickets for the 2008 season are currently on sale and can be purchased by calling the Mystics Sales Office at 1-877-DC-HOOP1 or by visiting the Mystics web site at www.washingtonmystics.com.
