Mystics to Host "Block out Cancer" Game

WASHINGTON, D.C. -In an effort to shed light on the effects of breast cancer, the Washington Mystics will host a "Block Out Cancer" game when they play the Indiana Fever on Sunday, August 18 at 3:00 p.m. Washington will wear special breast health awareness uniforms.

All fans attending the game will receive "Block Out Cancer" rally towels (attached). Throughout the game, survivors as well as those affected by cancer will be honored while awareness tips and information on breast health will be displayed in the arena.

The Capital Breast Care Center will also be in attendance to share information on the services they provide including access to mammograms, patient navigation services for cancer prevention and early detection, and transportation assistance.

A silent auction benefitting the Capital Breast Care Center will begin at noon on Aug. 18 and will conclude on Aug. 27. The auction will feature Mystics game worn jerseys as well as other unique memorabilia such as a signed Abbey Road canvas with Elena Delle Donne and Wizards guard Bradley Beal.
