
Mystics add Gortman

Washington, D.C. â Washington Mystics Senior Vice President of Business and Basketball Operations Judy Holland Burton today announced that the team has signed 6-1, 156 pound guard Shaunzinski Gortman for the remainder of the season. The Mystics had signed Gortman to a seven day contract on July 24th.
"In the time that Shaun has been with us she has exhibited a strong work ethic and we know that she will make positive contributions to our team for the remainder of the season," said Holland Burton.
Gortman, a 2002 graduate of the University of South Carolina, averaged 12.9 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 3.0 apg in 103 games. She was drafted by the Charlotte Sting in the 2002 WNBA draft (ninth overall) before being traded to the Lynx. Gortman played two seasons for the Lynx, averaging 2.6 pgg.
