Kennwick, WA - The Tri-City Americans put on an impressive show tonight at the Toyota Center as a hat trick from Sasha Mutala pushed them to a 4-1 victory over the Spokane Chiefs.

The Americans opened scoring 15:53 into the first period with a goal from Sasha Mutala. Sam Huo came down the slot and fell to his knees as he slid the puck across the crease to Mutala who scored backdoor on Chiefs netminder Mason Beaupit. Defenseman Marc Lajoie received an assist on the goal.

Tri-City held their 1-0 lead into the second period. 4:29 into the second period Mutala netted tonight's eventual game-winning goal as he forced a turnover in Chiefs' zone and scored with a wrist shot from the high slot.

Later in the period the Americans scored on the power play as Connor Bouchard faked out Beaupit with a pass from behind the net to Sam Huo who scored backdoor.

With 5:31 remaining in the second period, Sasha Mutala scored once more to record his third career hat trick. After entering the zone on an odd-man rush Marc Lajoie fed the puck in front of the net to Mutala who scored backdoor for his third goal of the night.

Marc Lajoie totaled three assists tonight for the third three point game this season.

Tomas Suchanek had an impressive night in net stopping 29 of 30 shots faced. The Chiefs spoiled his shut out with two minutes remaining with a goal from Timafey Kovgoreniya.

Final: 4-1 TC

Shots: 34-20 TC

Tri-City's next game is this upcoming Friday as they take on the Everett Silvertips at the Toyota Center.
