
Muren Named League Player of the Month

FARGO, N.D. - Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks CF Drew Muren has been named the Rawlings American Association Player of the Month for August, the league office announced.
Muren appeared in 28 games for the RedHawks and batted .363 with 11 doubles, two triples, one home run, 17 RBIs and 27 runs scored has he helped lead Fargo-Moorhead to a 17-12 record in the month. Muren stole 11 bases in 12 attempts, posted a .442 on-base percentage and slugged at a .522 clip.
For the season, Muren is batting .280 with 20 doubles, three triples, four home runs, 39 RBIs and 59 runs scored in 85 games. The fleet-footed centerfielder has stolen 18 bases in 19 attempts, and leads all American Association outfielders with 236 putouts. He was named the American Association Player of the Week for the week ending August 16.
Muren is in his first season with Fargo-Moorhead. He was acquired in an off-season trade with the Gary SouthShore RailCats.
