
Mudcats win another walk-off

Zebulon, NC.- North Division leading Carolina rallied in the ninth inning against Casey Daigle and swept Tennessee with a 3-2 win Sunday afternoon. It was Carolina's third straight walk-off win.
Carolina loaded the bases against Daigle (7-3) in the ninth before Rex Rundgren tied the game at two by singling home Reggie Abercrombie. Pinch hitter Chris Bass followed with a line drive single to left center, scoring J.C. Muniz and helping the Mudcats to a three-game sweep.
Chris Resop (2-1) worked a perfect ninth for the win.
Stephen Drew broke an 0-for-11 skid with a leadoff double in the sixth inning and scored the go ahead run when Chris Carter bounced into a double play, pushing Tennessee to a 2-1 lead in the sixth.
Carolina took an early lead against Dustin Nippert when Robert Andino double in the first and scored on a Jason Hill single.
Matt Morgan's second inning home run tied the game at two against Ray Aguilar.
Tennessee opens a seven game homestand Monday night against Montgomery. RHP Tony Pena (6-9, 4.30) will start for the Smokies against LHP Jason Cromer (4-6, 5.08)
