NEWS & NOTES: - Dash Blank Mudcats - Andre Rienzo, Jon Bachanov and Leroy Hunt combined to shut out the Mudcats 1-0. Dan Black drove in the only run with a single in the seventh. Mike Rayl had a quality start for Carolina, pitching seven innings. He scattered two hits, walked one and struck out five.
- Movin' On Up - RHP Cody Allen was promoted to Akron on Thursday. Today, the Indians promoted INF Justin Toole to AAA-Columbus. RHPs Shawn Armstrong and Jordan Cooper move to Carolina from Lake County. Outfielder Jordan Casas was activated from the 7-day DL.
- Lowery Red Hot - Catcher Jake Lowery has hit .380 (8x21) over his last six games. The first-year Mudcat belted his first home run on April 8, and knocked in five runs during that stretch. He has a five-game hitting streak.
- Full Power - The Mudcats have cranked 23 extra base hits through six games. Carolina has mashed three home runs, belted four triples, and doubled 16 times.
- Shut 'Em Down - The Mudcats bullpen has tossed 11.2 scoreless frames in a row. The group boasts two wins and a miniscule ERA of 1.50.
- Carolina features five players named top-30 prospects by Baseball America. The group is led by infielders Tony Wolters (7), Ronny Rodriguez (13) and Jesus Aguilar (25). Catcher Jake Lowery (27) and starting pitcher Mike Rayl (17) round out the list.
