Mudbugs To Support, Participate In "Movember"

BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs of the Central Hockey League are helping change the face of men's health this month by participating in "Movember", the world's largest men's health movement. Throughout the month formerly known as November, Mudbugs players and staff members will grow moustaches to help raise awareness and funds for the fight against prostate and testicular cancer. The 'Bugs are challenging all of our fans to join the cause and become "Mo Bros" and "Mo Sistas"!
Movember is an annual, month-long celebration of the "Mo" (slang for moustache) where men around the globe are encouraged to grow moustaches to help highlight men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer. Prostate cancer will strike one in six men in their lifetime, while testicular cancer is the most common cancer afflicting men between the ages of 18 and 35.
Monetary donations raised during Movember are used to benefit the Prostate Cancer Foundation and LIVESTRONG, the Lance Armstrong Foundation, to help fund research, find better treatments and improve survival rates. To date, Movember has raised $47 million globally making it the world's largest charity event for men.
Mudbugs players and staffers will become "Mo Bros" and "Mo Sistas" this month by growing moustaches and raising funds to support the Movember campaign. We encourage you to get involved by donating online at www.movember.com to donate directly to the Mudbugs team page. You can even register to become a member of the Mudbugs team and help us recruit family, friends and co-workers to further raise awareness about prostate cancer and testicular cancer right here in the Ark-La-Tex.
The Mudbugs Movember team will also be accepting donations at each of our five home games during the month of November. Visit the Movember table on the CenturyTel Center concourse at any one of our upcoming games to make a donation or get more information about the event.
The Mudbugs' Movember efforts will be capped off at the end of the month with our "Mo Bugs Gala", which will take place at Cantina Laredo (6535 Youree Drive in Shreveport) after our home game against Missouri on Saturday, November 28. Movember is your chance to help the Mudbugs change the face of men's health.

The Mudbugs are back at the CenturyTel Center this weekend for a pair of home games against the Odessa Jackalopes at 7:05 pm both Friday and Saturday night.
