
Bucks Sign Enforcer Sgroi

LAREDO, TX- The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League announced Tuesday that they have signed forward Mike Sgroi for the 2009-10 season. Sgroi is a Veteran with 451 career games played, including 196 in the AHL.
The 31-year-old Sgroi (pronounced SC-roy) has piled up 1,604 PIM's thus far in his 10-year professional career.
"Mike Sgroi is known for his tough and physical play, and that's something that we desperately need here right now," said Bucks President/General Manager and Head Coach Terry Ruskowski. "Bringing Sgroi in here now will no doubt increase the toughness of our team."
Last season Sgroi, a native of Toronto, Ontartio, played in a total of 37 games for six different teams, including eight in the AHL. Sgroi totaled 22 points (14-822) and picked up 105 PIM's last season.
The 6'5'', 230 pound Sgroi put up career numbers in the 2007-08 campaign, splitting time with Pensecola and Johnstown (ECHL). Sgroi had 47 points (25-2247) to go along with 257 PIM's.
Sgroi, who also has a background in MMA fighting, has spent time in the AHL in parts of seven seasons.
In 2003-04 Sgroi played a career-high 45 games in the AHL with the Utah Grizzlies, where he picked up six points (2-46) and 152 PIM's.
**AGARUNOV ON 14-DAY IR**
Also on Tuesday the Bucks announced that they have placed Igor Agarunov on the 14-day IR with a lower body injury. Agarunov has three points (1-23) in six games this season.

The Bucks are in Arizona where they will play three straight games against the Sundogs beginning Wednesday (Nov 4th).

**BUCKS WATCH PARTY AT HAL'S WEDNESDAY (NOV. 4TH)**
The Bucks will hold a watch party on Wednesday (Nov 4th) at Hal's Landing when the team is in Arizona to take on the Sundogs at 8:05pm CST.
Hal's will offer happy hour drink specials at the party, which will start at 7:30pm. Bucks front office staff members will be at the party giving fans a chance to win great prizes!
