INDIANAPOLIS, IN-The Indianapolis Ice will meet the Northeast Division champion Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs in the first round of the CHL Playoffs.
The best-of-five series begins this Friday (3/19) and Saturday (3/20) in Shreveport, LA when the two divisional foes square off at 8:05 p.m. from the CenturyTel Center. The series shifts to Indianapolis the following week starting with a contest on Saturday (3/27) at 7:00 p.m. from the Pepsi Coliseum.
Indy, who was 8-3-2 in its final 13 games, closed out the regular season with a 37-23-4 record which included a 20-10-2 clip at home and a record of 17-13-2 on the road. The Ice and Mudbugs met on eight occasions this year with Indy sporting a record of 3-5-0 in the series. Jared Dumba (4G, 4A) and Jason Baird (3G, 5A) led the Ice in scoring with eight points apiece, while Dave Gilmore chipped in with seven points (3G, 4A). In goal, Brent Zelenewich was the better of the netminders with a 2-2-0 record, 2.01 goals-against-average and a .940 save percentage in four appearances.
Tickets for game three at the Pepsi Coliseum will go on sale this Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at all Ticketmaster locations including select Marsh Supermarkets, Karma Records, select L.S.
