Toledo Mud Hens News Release
(Toledo, OH) - In a recent online story about the best foods at minor league baseball ballparks around the country, Sports Illustrated gave the nod to Fifth Third Field's gyro cart as one of the can't miss spots.
Located behind home plate, the cart serves up gyro sandwiches, pita and hummus, as well as a fried bologna sandwich complete with grilled onions and melted cheese.
General Manager for V/Gladieux (ballpark concessions) Craig Nelson said, "What we have seen over the past three seasons is that Mud Hens fans enjoy eating dinner at the ballpark and one of their most popular sandwich choices has been the Gyro Sandwich."
Nelson added, "Portable grilling carts have become an affordable way for us to expand our menu offerings such as the Fried Bologna and Sofo Foods Grilled Meatball Sandwich."
