TONIGHT'S GAME: This evening, the Bisons start a two-game homestand against the Red Wings at Coca-Cola Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd won yesterday over Rochester, 1-0, to complete the two-game sweep of its in-state rival. The Bisons also are on five-game win streak, matching a season-high set May 19-23. After Rochester, Buffalo leaves for an eight-game roadtrip on Friday to Toledo and Columbus.

vs RED WINGS: The Bisons are 6-3 against the Red Wings this season. Buffalo took two of three in the only series at Coca-Cola Field, July 1-3. The Bisons are 4-2 against the Wings in Rochester, including a two-game sweep this week.

DISH ON MISCH: LHP PAT MISCH leads the Buffalo pitching staff with a 3.27ERA and 118.1 innings pitched (2nd in the IL). With a win tonight, the southpaw will become the Bisons' first 10-game winner since RHP JEREMY GUTHRIE in 2005 (12-10). Misch's nine wins leads all lefties in the IL while his 12 quality starts are tied with RHP DILLON GEE for the team lead.

HESSMAN RETURNS: Tonight marks INF MIKE HESSMAN return to Coca-Cola Field. At home this season, the slugger is batting .310 (36-116) with 13 home runs and 36RBI. The 13 homers are the most by a Bisons player at Coca-Cola Filed since OF JASON DUBOIS hit 13 in 2006. OF ALEX RAMIREZ holds the Coca-Cola Field single-season record with 22 blasts in 1998.

ROSTER SHUFFLE: LHP OLIVER PEREZ has completed his major-league rehab assignment and has rejoined the Mets. In two starts, the southpaw posted a 2.31ERA and ten strikeouts with Buffalo. Returning from New York is INF RUBEN TEJADA. Tejada hit .210 (21-100) in 33 games in his second stint with the Mets this year. RHP MANUEL ALVAREZ has been transferred to Double-A Binghamton after going 0-1 with a 2.25ERA in three games.

STARTING STRONG: In the six games since the All-Star break, the Bisons' starting pitchers are 3-0 with five quality starts and 2.50 ERA. The staff has pitched at least six innings in every start and has posted 33 strikeouts, only nine walks and 0.88 WHIP in 39.2 innings pitched.

METS UPDATE: The Bisons and Mets today announced that they have signed a two-year extension to their player development contract. The Herd will serve as New York's top minor league affiliate through the 2012 season. Twelve of the 25 players currently on the Mets' active roster have spent time in Buffalo since the start of the 2009 season. New York (49-45) is in Arizona to face the D'Backs tonight at 9:05p.m.
