
Clippers Win in 12, 8-6

Durham, NC - Wes Hodges doubled off the Blue Monster in left field scoring Luis Valbuena and Jordan Brown in the top of the 12th inning and the Bulls failed to answer as the Clippers bested Durham, 8-6 on Wednesday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Columbus jumped on the Bulls for a pair in the first inning on Jared Goedert's RBI-single scoring Jose Constanza, then Valbuena scored on Jordan Brown's forceout to second base. They added another in the second inning on Nick Weglarz's towering home run to right field to make it 3-0.
Durham answered with a tally in the bottom of the second when Dan Johnson launched his 26th home run of the season to make it 3-1. Columbus retaliated with one in the third inning and a pair in the fifth to take a 6-1 advantage.
The Bulls comeback began with a run in the bottom of the fifth inning when Justin Ruggiano's groundout scored Fernando Perez to make it 6-2. An inning later, Angel Chavez lined a three-run homer over the Blue Monster in left field to make it 6-5. The Bulls tied the game in the seventh inning when Navarro's groundout scored Ruggiano to make it 6-6. The two teams went scoreless for the next four innings until Hodges' heroics in the 12th.
RHP Josh Judy (2-0) picked up the win with two scoreless innings for the Clippers while RHP Winston Abreu (0-2) took the loss allowing two runs on two hits and two walks in one inning.
