Belleville Bulls News Release
OTTAWA, ON - The Belleville Bulls open up a weekend home-and-home with Ottawa 67's from TD Place on Friday night. The Bulls evened up the season series last Wednesday thanks to a late third period goal from Dallas Stars prospect Remi Elie. The weekend match ups will be the second and third meeting between the two clubs in the last ten days. Puck drop is set for 7:30.
The 67's have are an even 5-5 over their last ten contests. 1996-born centre Dante Salituro, who has buried 5 goals in the last 5 games, continues to lead his squad with 21 goals and 11 helpers. Sophomore winger Travis Konecny has pitched in with 11 markers and 13 assists in 27 games played.
Russian product Leo Lazarev has played in 12 contests and owns .871 save percentage. The 67's are currently sixth in the Eastern Conference standings with a 13-12-1-1 record.
While the Bulls are without Elie, their top scorer, they welcome back veteran forward Jake Marchment, who has just completed a 15 game suspension.
Elie, who has posted 12 goals and added 19 assists, has travelled to Toronto to take part in the Canadian National Junior Team selection camp. Marchment returns to the line up for the first time since the beginning of November. The Courtice, Ontario native has 3 goals and 4 assists in 15 games played.
Newly reacquired over age defenceman, Adam Bignell will be out of the line up as he continues to serve a 2 game suspension for a staged fight with Jacob Graves of the Kingston Frontenacs.
Netminder Charlie Graham has played in 25 games this season. The Toronto native has a .918 save percentage and a 3.19 goals against average. Forwards Matt Luff and Adam Laishram were goal scorers in regulation. Stephen Harper and Jordan Subban added shootout markers.
The Bulls are coming off a big 3-2 shootout win over the Western Conference leading Erie Otters. The win sweeps the season series for the boys from the friendly city. With a possible four points on the line, the Bulls will look to begin closing out the first half of the regular season on a high note.
