
Morning Skate: Bulls Look to Rebound in Sudbury

SUDBURY, ON - The Belleville Bulls continue their weekend road trip Saturday night with a stop at the Sudbury Community Arena. Despite a late 3rd period surge, the Bulls fell 3-2 to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Friday night. Belleville defeated Sudbury 2-1 in their home opener the last time these two clubs met. The second of four meetings between the two is set for 7:00pm.
Sudbury is led by Czech Republic product Pavel Jenys who has buried 4 goals and added 9 assists in 13 games played. 1996-born centre Matt Schmalz has chipped in with 10 goals and 2 assists in 17 games played.
The Wolves have been struggling as of late dropping their last 2 contests, most recently a 9-2 loss to the Barrie Colts. Schmalz and Georgetown native Jacob Harris were goal scorers in the loss. They recently picked up their first road win of the season with a 7-2 win over the Niagara Ice Dogs. Sudbury currently finds themselves in the Central Division and Eastern Conference basement and will look pick up just their third win in this young season.
The Belleville Bulls wrapped up a season series with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Friday night. After falling behind 3-0 after 2 periods the Bulls potted a pair in the second half of the final frame. Hounds goaltender Brandon Halverson made some big saves down the stretch to give his club their second win in a row. Goal scorers for the Bulls were Remi Elie and Stephen Harper. Vancouver Canucks prospect Jordan Subban extended his point streak to 10 games as he picked up his 11th assist of the year. Brett Gustavsen, Yuill and Elie also picked up helpers.
