
Saginaw Spirit Fall to Erie Otters in the Second Road Game of the Weekend

The Saginaw Spirit played their second road game of the weekend at the Erie Insurance Arena falling to the Otters 8-1.
The first period started off with Saginaw's Jimmy Lodge finding the back of the net 39 seconds in and putting the Spirit on top 1-0. Assists on the play came from Dylan Sadowy and Nick Moutrey. At the 7:19 mark Erie's Darren Raddysh tied the score at 1 with a power play goal. Dylan Strome and Connor McDavid with the assists. With one minute left in the period Erie's Alex DeBrincat scored to bring the Otters up 2-1. Connor McDavid and Trent Fox had assists on the play. Shots on goal at the end of the first favored the Erie Otters 13-7.
The second period was controlled by Erie as they added 4 goals on to their lead. Otters Quentin Maksimovich scored his first goal of the year at the 4:38 mark bringing Erie's lead to 3-1. Assisting him on the play was Dylan Strome and Travis Dermott. Connor McDavid with a goal at the 6:03 mark and Nick Betz at the 8:16 mark brought the Otters up 5-1 over the Spirit. Erie's Darren Raddysh had his second power play goal of the night at the 17:50 mark with assists by Dylan Strome and Connor McDavid. These goals pushed the Erie Otters lead to 6-1 over the Saginaw Spirit. Shots on goal for the second period favored Erie 14-3.
After 60 minutes of play Erie Otters Kyle Pettit slapped the puck in the net to push their lead up 7-1. Travis Wood and Patrick Murphy assisted the goal. Erie finished the game with a late goal at the 18:43 mark by Travis Wood with the lone assist by Patrick Murphy. The final score was Erie Otters 8 Saginaw Spirit 1. Final shots on goal read 41-23 in favor of Erie.

The Saginaw Spirit will finish out their weekend road trip facing the Kitchener Rangers at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium on Sunday, November 9th with the puck dropping at 6pm. Saginaw will come home on Friday November 14th to host the Windsor Spitfires with a start time of 7:11pm.
