Belleville Bulls News Release

BELLEVILLE, ON - The Belleville Bulls host the Windsor Spitfires for the first and only time this season on Wednesday night. Despite sitting ninth in the Western Conference, the Spitfires have won their last 4 road games, including a 6-3 win over Erie last weekend. The new look Bulls are hoping to bounce back form a disappointing 6-2 loss to the Peterborough Petes at the Yardmen Arena on January 3rd. Puck drop is set for 7:05pm.

Windsor kicked off their current Eastern road trip with a victory over the Mississauga Steelheads last Sunday. The Steelheads jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but it wasn't enough as the Spits battled back to win in overtime. Windsor netminder, Brendan Johnston made 47 saves in the win. Kingston, Ontario native Aaron Luchuk potted the overtime winner.

The Spitfires are led in the scoring category by veteran defenceman Trevor Murphy who has buried 15 goals and added 22 helpers in 37 games played thus far. 1995-born right-winger Sam Povorozniouk has helped out with 11 goals and 17 assists in 37 games played as well.

Goaltender Alex Fotinos has seen action in 27 games this season. The Toronto native has a .890 save percentage and a 3.65 goals against average.

The Bulls suffered their first home loss of the New Year last Saturday night, falling 6-2 to the Peterborough Petes. Jordan Subban and Remi Elie were goal scorers for Belleville. Rookie netminder Connor Hicks made 42 saves in the loss.
