Belleville Bulls News Release
BELLEVILLE, ON - The Belleville Bulls play number two of three in a row this weekend when they host the Owen Sound Attack tonight. The Bulls have dropped their last three and look to turn the ship around against a hungry for more Owen Sound team, who defeated the Kingston Frontenacs in overtime on Friday night. Puck drop is set for 7:05 from the Yardmen Arena.
Owen Sound Assistant Captain Chris Bigras scored just over one minute into the overtime period to give his club their second straight win. Other goal scorers for the Attack in the win over Kingston were Barrie native Zach Nastasiuk and winger Jaden Lindo.
The Attack are led by 1995-born centre Kyle Platzer who has potted 9 goals and picked up 18 assists in 21 games played thus far. Platzer scored three goals in two games against the London Knights over the past weekend and has posted 14 points in the last 10 games. Right-winger Nastasiuk has chipped in with 12 goals and 12 assists in 21 games played as well.
Bigras sits fourth on the OHL's defenceman scoring list and leads his squad on the blue line. The six foot two Elmvale native has 8 goals and 14 helpers in 21 contests. Sophomore netminder Jack Flinn has played in 13 games and owns a 0.897 save percentage. The Bears will look to add another to their current 2 game win streak before taking on the Oshawa Generals on Sunday.
The Bulls are coming off another tough loss at the hands of the aforementioned Generals. The Eastern Conference leaders proved why they have the best power play in the OHL as they went 3/4 on the man advantage Friday night. The visiting Bulls came within one but it was too little too late as the Generals skated to a 6-4 victory. Goal scorers for the Bulls were Stephen Harper, Brandon Saigeon (2) and Alex Yuill. Charlie Graham made 29 saves in the loss.
Forward Adam Laishram will be out of the line up tonight as he took a huge slap shot off the side of the foot in Friday's loss to the Generals.
