More Than 20,000 Fans Expected for the Eastern Semi-Final
November 7, 2019 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Montreal Alouettes News Release
Montreal - The Montreal Alouettes announced on Thursday the removal of some of the banners that cover closed sections of Percival Molson Memorial Stadium, and the release of an additional 1,600 tickets, some for as low as $39, for the November 10 Eastern Semi-Final opposing the Alouettes and the Edmonton Eskimos.
"With close to 20,000 seats sold, we have decided to start removing some banners and put extra tickets on sale," said Patrick Boivin, President and CEO of the Alouettes. "It was our objective and we are very proud to have reached it. We've felt the enthusiasm and support from our fans all year long and, obviously, everyone is excited to see us back in the playoffs."
This will mark Montreal's first playoff appearance since 2014. Exceptionally, Percival Molson Memorial Stadium will open its doors two hours before kickoff, at 11 a.m. The organization strongly recommends that fans arrive no later than noon to avoid lineups coming into the stadium and to be able to be in their seats for the start of the game, at 1 p.m.
Montreal rapper Fouki, who was in nomination in the "Rap Album of the Year" category at the last ADISQ Gala, will perform during halftime.
At each entrance of the stadium, until noon, BMO Financial Group will distribute a total of 3,000 surprise gifts, including unique experiences for the November 10 game, 100 pairs of tickets for the team's 2020 home opener, two VIA Rail business class tickets for Montreal-Toronto, as well as vouchers for concessions and Alouettes merchandise. In addition, thousands of Alouettes branded bandanas will be given to the first people to arrive at the stadium.
A pre-game tailgate open to the public will take place in the Budweiser tent, located in Mount Royal Park, from 10 a.m. to noon. Fans will be able to purchase food, beverages and Alouettes apparel.
Tickets are available via the Alouettes web site or by calling 514-787-2525 or 1-844-575-2525.
