B.C. Lions News Release
(Vancouver) The BC Lions Football Club today announced that receiver Lemar Durant has signed a contract extension with the team through the 2021 season.
"Lemar was a big addition to our team this past season and showed us the kind of upside we knew he was capable of if given a larger role within an offence," said GM Ed Hervey. "Having him under contract for the next two seasons speaks to the environment we're building here in BC and this is a great start to 2020."
Setting career-highs in receptions (57), receiving yards (810) and touchdowns (5), the Coquitlam native became one of quarterback Mike Reilly's primary targets in 2019 and earned him a team nomination as Most Outstanding Canadian. A late-season foot injury resulted in an early end to the year after 15 games, but the Simon Fraser grad is expected to be at full speed when training camp begins next May.
"It was great to return home this season and play in front of family and friends for an entire season," said Durant. "Knowing I'm going to be a Lion for two more years is an amazing feeling, but my focus is squarely on winning a championship."
BC Lions season tickets for 2020 are available now. New and renewed season ticket holders are eligible to win a trip for two to the 2019 Grey Cup in Calgary (new or renewed by November 8) as well as a trip for two to the Queen Charlotte Lodge to fish with Travis Lulay (new or renewed by December 13).
