More Memorial Cup Details Announced

Brandon, Manitoba -- In what will be the first of many details to come on plans for the 2010 MasterCard Memorial Cup, the Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings have announced some details on both ticket prices and volunteer services.

Memorial Cup Ticket Package Prices;

The Wheat Kings, in conjunction with both the WHL and Canadian Hockey League have announced that the price for the 2010 Memorial Cup Ticket package, scheduled for May 14-23rd, 2010 will be $399 plus GST

Wheat Kings' 2008-09 Season Ticket holders that renew for next season will be given first opportunity to reserve their Memorial Cup Ticket Package. Fans wanting to purchase a 2008-09 Season Ticket - at $299 - are urged to contact the Wheat Kings' office at 726-3535.

Volunteer Services;

The Wheat Kings have also announced that once the Tournament Host Committee structure has been finalized, more details on Volunteer services will be unveiled. In the meantime, fans can contact Danna at the Wheat Kings' office at 726-3535, leave a name and contact information.

Cristall Announced as Tournament Chairman:

Serving as Chairman for the local MasterCard Memorial Cup Host Committee will be Jeff Cristall.

Cristall is currently the Regional Managing Partner of the Westman Region of Meyers Norris Penny LLP. He is also the Partner in Charge of Valuation and Litigation support services for westman.

Prior to joining MNP, he worked in the Valuation and Special Services department for Dunwoody & Co. in Vancouver.

Jeff has been heavily involved in community activities including but not limited to the United Way, Brandon University Alumni Association and Chair of the Board of Governors; Keystone Kinsmen Club, Treasurer of Brandon Festival of the Arts and Chairman of the Brandon Airport Development Group.

For the first time in franchise history, the Wheat Kings have earned the right to play host to the Memorial Cup. This will mark the first time that Manitoba has hosted this prestigious event and it comes during the province's 140th Anniversary celebrations.

On the ice, the Wheat Kings kick off a mini 2-game weekend homestand Friday night against Portland. The Eastern Division leading Swift Current Broncos will be in Brandon on Saturday.
