Salt Lake Bees News Release

Osmer Morales put together his best outing of the season to help carry the Salt Lake Bees to a 7-2 win over the Sacramento River Cats on Thursday night. Morales (2-2) went five and two-third innings and allowed just one run on two hits with a season high equaling seven strikeouts and only one walk. After giving up a run on a pair of two out hits in the first inning, Morales retired the next fifteen Sacramento batters. Taylor Cole set down all four hitters he faced with two strikeouts and Eduardo Paredes worked the final two innings and allowed one run.

Salt Lake took the lead in the first, as David Fletcher led off with a double and scored on a single to left by Michael Hermosillo. After the River Cats tied the game with a run in the bottom of the first, the Bees took advantage of five walks in the second by Sacramento starter Tyler Beede to score two runs. They would add another run in the fourth, as Zach Houchins doubled, moved to third on a balk and came home on a sacrifice fly by Juan Graterol. Salt Lake would plate two more runs in the eighth on an RBI double by Hermosillo, who later scored on a wild pitch and one more in the ninth on a run scoring single by Fletcher, as the Bees snapped a three game losing streak. Fletcher led Salt Lake with four hits and two runs batted in, while Hermosillo added three hits and two RBI.
