April 1, 2010 - Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL)
Halifax Mooseheads News Release
The Halifax Mooseheads will select 2nd overall at the 2010 QMJHL Entry Draft on June 5th in Drummondville, Quebec. The Mooseheads lost a coin flip this morning at the QMJHL Board of Governors' meeting to the Baie-Comeau Drakkar for the opportunity to select 1st overall.
"Although it would have been nice to have the 1st overall pick for the Organization and our Fans, we are still very excited heading to the QMJHL Draft", stated Cam Russell, Mooseheads Coach and General Manager. "With 5 picks in the top 37 selections, we know we are in a great position to add a handful of very talented prospects to our Organization."
The 2nd overall pick is the highest pick the Mooseheads have ever had outside of Etienne Drapeau who was selected 1st overall by the Mooseheads in the 1994 QMJHL Entry Draft. The Mooseheads will select 2nd, 19th, 25th, 28th and 37th overall among the top 40 players taken at the draft.
