Halifax Mooseheads General Manager Marcel Patenaude completed his second trade of the day by sending 19-year-old defenceman Philippe Poirier to the Quebec Remparts, along with the Mooseheads' fifth round pick in the 2007 QMJHL Draft and a third round 2007 pick acquired earlier from the Saint John Sea Dogs.

In return, the Mooseheads receive Quebec's third round pick in 2007 and a third round pick acquired by Quebec from the Lewiston MAINEiacs.

"We would like to thank Philippe Poirier for his efforts on behalf of the Halifax Mooseheads," Patenaude said. "These picks will allow us to be very aggressive in next June's draft, or in the upcoming trading period."

The trade is subject to approval by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
