
Mooseheads cut MacAskill

Halifax Mooseheads Head Coach / General Manager Cam Russell today announced the release of 20-year-old defenseman Ben MacAskill from the team's 2009 Training Camp roster.
Draftet by Halifax in round 1 (#17) of the 2005 QMJHL Entry Draft, MacAskill played in 224 games for the Mooseheads over four years, totaling nine goals and 51 assists for 60 points while amassing 155 penalty minutes. In 26 playoff games, MacAskill scored three times and added two assists.
"It was a difficult choice for us," Mooseheads' Head Coach and General Manager Cam Russell said. "Ben was an important part of the team for four years and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors."
