Halifax Mooseheads News Release
The Halifax Mooseheads have acquired 17-year-old Andrew Smith in a trade with the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, Mooseheads' General Manager Marcel Patenaude announced today.
Smith, no relation to Mooseheads' owner Bobby Smith, a 6'05", 210 lbs right winger from Corner Brook, NL, had no points in 14 games with the Sagueneens this season and is currently on the roster of the Resitgouche Jr. A Tigers of the Maritime Junior A Hockey League.
"Andrew Smith is a player we like very much and we are happy to have him on our protected list," Patenaude said. "We have not decided yet when he may join our active roster."
Halifax will send an eighth round pick in 2009 to the Sagueneens in return for Smith.
