Wildcats land Joly; Macenauer and Bolduc to Cataractes

BOUCHERVILLE, Thursday, January 8, 2009 - The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League trade period officially came to a close today at noon. Several teams made last-minute moves to try to improve their chances at a strong President Cup run.
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan sent left-winger Tomy Joly (88-06-29) to the Moncton Wildcats for Julien Tremblay (91-12-29) and second round picks in 2009 (via Victoriaville) and 2010.
The Shawinigan Cataractes acquired Maxime Macenauer (89-01-04) from the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies for Brad Yetman (91-05-17) and a fourth round selection in 2009. They also pried away Mathieu Bolduc (88-02-29) from the Chicoutimi Saguenéens for a first round pick in 2011. Finally, Shawinigan got Nicolas Larocque-Marcoux (91-11-25) from the Saint John Sea Dogs for a fifth round selection in 2009 (via Halifax).
The Huskies traded Jarrad Struthers (90-07-27) to the P.E.I. Rocket for second (via Rouyn-Noranda) and third (via Acadie-Bathurst) round picks in 2009. Finally, they sent Francis Schanck (90-01-21) to the Voltigeurs for a tenth round pick in 2009.
The Victoriaville Tigres traded Jérémie Blain (92-03-19) to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan for Olivier Jannard (90-01-27) and fourth and fifth round picks in 2010. They also sent Dave Nolin (89-04-27) and John Esposito (91-10-28) to the Olympiques for Bradley MacDonald (92-06-14) and a second round pick in 2010.
The Saint John Sea Dogs acquired Olivier Ouellet (90-04-19) from the Chicoutimi Saguenéens for a second round selection in 2009 (via Shawinigan).
The Montreal Juniors traded for Félix-Antoine Poulin (90-09-13). In return, they sent Anthony Taylor (91-01-15) to the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. The Juniors also acquired Philippe Fontaine (91-02-20) from the Screaming Eagles for a fifth round pick in 2010.
The Val-d'Or Foreurs sent Louis Leblanc (91-10-26), Maxim Guérin (90-03-25) and Marc-André Carré (91-12-26) to the Chicoutimi Saguenéens for third and ninth round picks in 2009. The Saguenéens also traded Andrew Smith (91-10-01) to the Halifax Mooseheads for an eighth round selection in 2009.
The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles sent Artem Demkov (89-09-26) to the Acadie-Bathurst Titan for an eighth round pick in 2009.
