Moose Play Santa for a Day

Today, the Manitoba Moose players paid their annual visit to the Children's Hospital in time for the Christmas season.

Thanks to monies given by the players themselves as well as a generous donation from the Platinum Jets intramural hockey team, the team will deliver thousands of dollars worth of electronics to the Children's Hospital.

The Platinum Jets are an intramural hockey team that began playing at the University of Winnipeg back in 1978. For the past 22 years, they have held an annual golf tournament that has raised over $300,000 for various local charities. This past year, the tournament raised over $54,000. The organization has also helped establish scholarships at various Winnipeg high schools. The Platinum Jets has been a long-time supporter of the Moose Yearling Foundation.

This season, the Moose, in conjunction wi th the Platinum Jets, are donating the following to the Children's Hospital:

· 3 - 20" T.V.'s

· 27 PlayStation 2 games

· 43 movies

· 4 portable DVD players

· 2 PlayStation 2 systems

· 3 sets of headphones

· 50 Mick E. Moose Bobble head dolls

· 35 Stuffed Moose Toys

· 100 sets of tickets for the doctors and nurses at the Children's Hospital.
