Moose Jaw Holds off Hitmen 4-3

Moose Jaw, SK - The Moose Jaw Warriors built a 4-0 second period lead then hung on to defeat the Calgary Hitmen 4-3 on Friday night at Mosaic Place.

Dryden Hunt, Brayden Watts, Ryan Bowen and Josh Brook scored for Moose Jaw who has now won all three meetings with the Hitmen this season.

Beck Malenstyn, Loch Morrison and Layne Bensmiller replied for the Calgary who carried the play most of the night outshooting Moose Jaw 40-15. Warriors goalie Brody Willms made 37 saves in a first star performance.

Keegan Kanzig added a pair of assists for the Hitmen in the loss.

With the victory, Moose Jaw improves to 16-10-4-1 while the Hitmen drop to 20-12-1-1.

Calgary's road trip continues on Sunday, Dec. 13 in Red Deer (5:00 p.m. MT, Sportsnet 960-TheFan) against the Rebels. It will mark the start of seven straight games against teams from their own division. The stretch continues with a home-and-home series the following weekend against the Tigers. It begins Friday, Dec. 18 in Medicine Hat before the return match in Calgary at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday, Dec. 19. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
