Wilson Tobs News Release

WILSON, N.C - The Mooresville All-Americans blanked the Wilson Tobs 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at a soggy Historic Fleming Stadium.

Mooresville broke open a scoreless affair in the sixth inning against Phillip Williams as Chris Rosa began the frame with a triple to the right centerfield gap and came in to touch the plate on a pass ball later in the inning. The All-Americans plated another run in the same inning on another pass ball which allowed William Karalis to score for a 2-0 advantage.

Wilson had a tough time establishing any type of offense against Zachary Soulier who worked seven strong innings for the All-Americans as he allowed just two hits and struck out a pair.

Mooresville added another run in the ninth for the final 3-0 margin.

Wilson will return to CPL play on Monday night at 7:05 when they welcome the Morehead City Marlins to Historic Fleming Stadium.

The Wilson Tobs are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 16th season in 2012, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both the players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 52 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and CY Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
