Marlins and SwampDogs Rained Out

MOREHEAD CITY, N.C. - The game scheduled for July 1 at Big Rock Stadium between the Morehead City Marlins and Fayetteville SwampDogs has been rained out. The game has been rescheduled as part of a doubleheader on Friday, July 6 in Morehead City.

With the rain out, the Marlins sit at 10-18 overall and 0-1 in the second half while the SwampDogs stay at 18-10 and have yet to play a game this half of the season.

The Marlins are back in action tomorrow night as they travel to Fleming Stadium to take on the Wilson Tobs. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. with the live broadcast on CPL WebPass beginning approximately 10 minutes prior to first pitch.

The Morehead City Marlins is a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 16th season in 2012, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 52 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
