Weekly Marlins Update
June 2, 2015 - Coastal Plain League (Coastal Plain)
Morehead City Marlins News Release
The Marlins have dropped three-straight games, losing two of those games by one run against the Wilmington Sharks. Heading into Wednesday's action against the Petersburg Generals, the Marlins (3-3) are now in danger of falling below .500 for the first time all season.
Through June 2nd, LHP Zach Reid (Tennessee) has yet to allow a run this season in seven innings of work. The left handed reliever has struck out 10 batters this season, while walking just two. In fact, the back end of the Marlins bullpen powered by Reid, Grant Gavin (Central Missouri), Harper Grier (Lander University) and Tyler Gunnin (West Georgia) have not allowed a run in 20 combined innings of work on the year.
Christian Campbell (Rutgers) leads the Marlins with a .292 batting average, recording hits in five of his first six games with the club.
Your league leader in stolen bases, Brandon Montgomery (Memphis) and Grant Tyndall (Mt. Olive) have been demons on the base paths going a combined 8-8 this year. The Marlins are now 21-25 overall.
