Club de Foot Montreal News Release

MONTREAL - Just days after dramatically clinching a berth in the 2022 MLS Cup Playoffs, CF Montréal (16-9-5) will take to the field again Tuesday night in its second-to-last regular-season home match against the Chicago Fire FC (9-13-8) at 7:30pm at Stade Saputo (TVA Sports, TSN, BPM Sports, TSN 690).

The team will be looking for its 17th win of the season and to further solidify its hold of second place in the Eastern Conference. A win would lift the team to 56 points after 31 games.

Montreal has had the upper hand in the last three meetings against Chicago, shutting out the Fire on each occasion (2-0, 2-0, 1-0). This is the only time in the Club's history that Montreal has recorded three consecutive clean sheet wins over a single opponent. In fact, September 2, 2017, was Montreal's last home loss to the Fire (0-1). In addition, Montreal holds an 8-2-3 regular season home record against Chicago with 21 goals scored and 13 allowed.

As for the opponent, despite sitting in 12th place in the standings, Chicago will land in Montreal brimming with confidence in its away record. The Fire has lost just once in its last five road games, including 0-0 results in New England and Columbus. The visitors have not allowed more than one goal in a game since their last clash with Montreal when Ismaël Koné and Romell Quioto struck each in turn for the Bleu-blanc-noir on August 27 at Soldier Field.
