New England Revolution News Release

HOUSTON - The New England Revolution (9-10-11; 38 pts.; 8th in East) will visit Houston Dynamo FC (8-16-6; 30 pts.; 13th in West) on Tuesday night at PNC Stadium. The match kicks off at 8:30 p.m. ET and airs locally on WSBK-TV38, myRITV (Rhode Island), and Cozi TV (Western Mass.), with Brad Feldman and Charlie Davies calling the action. Tuesday's match also airs locally on the radio on 98.5 The Sports Hub and 1260 AM Nossa Radio.

With four matches remaining in the regular season, New England makes its first trip to Houston since 2018, sitting three points behind Columbus (41 pts.) for the seventh and final playoff position in the Eastern Conference. New England meets Houston for the first time since June 29, 2019, when the Revolution registered a 2-1 win in Foxborough. The club's last trip to Houston came in March 2018, a 2-0 win for New England. The Revolution are unbeaten in the last seven meetings with Houston, going 6-0-1 since the team's last loss to the Dynamo in 2014.

New England fell to the New York Red Bulls, 2-1, in its most recent match on Saturday afternoon. The Revolution took a 1-0 lead behind midfielder Tommy McNamara's fourth goal of the season, before the Red Bulls came from behind to claim all three points. McNamara, who played for Houston from 2019-20 before joining the Revolution, has reached the scoresheet in six of the Revolution's last eight games, with three goals and four assists since August 6. McNamara's next goal will match his career high of five.

Forward Gustavo Bou and defender DeJuan Jones each tallied an assist on McNamara's goal, with the latter reaching a club milestone in the process. Jones' seventh assists in 2022 are now the most by a Revolution defender in a single season. The fourth-year pro ranks second on the team in assists and is now two appearances away from 100 in MLS regular season play. Meanwhile, Andrew Farrell is set to anchor New England's backline after logging his 300th league appearance on Saturday, all with New England.

Saturday's match also featured the Revolution debut of midfielder Nacho Gil, the younger brother of reigning MLS MVP Carles Gil, who missed his first match of the season for the birth of his first child. Nacho Gil submitted an appearance off the bench in the contest, while forward Giacomo Vrioni also came off the bench in his first appearance since July 30. The Albanian international had missed the month of August with a leg injury before logging a 10-minute shift at Red Bulla Arena.

Sporting Director and Head Coach Bruce Arena remains one win away from becoming the first coach in MLS history to reach 250 regular season victories.

REVOLUTION STORYLINES:

Bruce Arena needs one more victory to become the first MLS coach to reach 250 regular season wins.

M Tommy McNamara can potentially reach the scoresheet for the seventh time in nine games. McNamara, a former Houston Dynamo player, owns three goals and four assists in his last eight games played.

GK Djordje Petrović needs three clean sheets in the final four games of the regular season to match the club's single-season shutout record of 10, set by Matt Reis in 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Homegrown Player M Noel Buck, an Arlington, Mass. native, could feature in the starting lineup for the fourth consecutive match.

M Carles Gil is looking to remain the MLS leader in chances created (97), key passes (89), and fouls won (81), while his 13 assists rank third most.

Gil and his younger brother, Nacho Gil, could play together in a senior professional match for the first time. The pair become the third pair of brothers to play for New England.

M Maciel is eyeing his fourth straight match. The 22-year-old Brazilian leads the Revolution in successful passing percentage (90.4%).
