Monterey Bay Heads to the Neon City for Las Vegas Lights FC Fixture

LAS VEGAS, Nevada - Monterey Bay F.C. (4-4-5, 17 points) travels to Las Vegas for a 7:30 p.m. PT showdown on Saturday against Lights FC (1-4-6, 9 points) at Cashman Field in Week 14 of the 2023 USL Championship regular season. Live streaming of the match will be available on ESPN+.

Monterey Bay and Las Vegas Lights FC last met on September 27, 2022 in a rescheduled midweek contest that resulted in a 4-0 loss for the Union in a match that was needed to stay in the playoff conversation late in the season. None of the goalscorers from that match are still with the Lights, but the Crisp and Kelp will be looking to erase that night nonetheless.

The all-time matchup record between the sides is even at 1-1-0 coming into Saturday's contest, though Las Vegas owns a +3 advantage in goal difference with a win in the only game played at Cashman Field within the matchup to date. Leading up to the third regular season meeting with Las Vegas Lights FC, Monterey Bay will look to earn a second consecutive win after claiming four points in two matches last week against Eastern Conference sides FC Tulsa and Loudoun United FC.

Las Vegas heads into Saturday's fixture on the heels of its first win of the season, an impressive 1-0 road win over Rising FC in downtown Phoenix. Prior to last weekend's win, Lights FC began the season with 10 consecutive winless matches (four losses, six draws) and have found themselves at the bottom of the Western Conference.

"I'm expecting us to continue our style of football from the weekend, that attacking prowess that we have when we have everybody healthy," said Monterey Bay F.C. Director of Football and Head Coach Frank Yallop. "I feel really good, the guys have trained well this week. We need to keep climbing the table a little bit so that we can secure a playoff spot. We're aiming for nothing less than three points."
