Rio Grande Valley FC Toros News Release
EDINBURG, Texas - Rio Grande Valley FC (2-5-5) is set to host Eastern Conference side Miami FC (2-5-6) on Saturday, June 10 at 7:00 p.m. CST. This is the first-ever meeting between the sides at H-E-B Park, with the overall record sitting at 1-0-0 in favor of RGV FC historically.
Rio Grande Valley is looking to shake off the bad luck in recent weeks and regain their rhythm in order to create a viable threat on the pitch offensively. At H-E-B Park, the Toros have not yet seen a victory and are growing increasingly eager to give the home fans something to cheer for in Edinburg.
The group is inching closer to becoming whole as some missing pieces rejoin the roster, after dealing with early season setbacks; Christian Pinzon has worked on fitness and sharpening his striking power in the past weeks and looks to be a difference maker very soon on the pitch. There is no shortness of approaches and creativity up front between the active forwards and midfielders, it just seems to be an inability to finish those chances which has resulted in shutout losses for Rio Grande.
Miami FC have their fair share of struggles, having lost three of their last five matches; just as RGV FC have done. This is no indicator of weakness however, and Wilmer Cabrera never allows for his side to relax and hand off matches according to opponent strength, especially at home where there are three crucial points on the line in early June.
Look for a tightly contested battle in the midfield, and a stronger display of wing defense as those were deemed focus points after last match on the road in Orange County.
