Battery Travel to Pittsburgh for Away Match on Saturday

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Charleston Battery will hit the road for their next game, against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Sat., June 10. Kickoff at Highmark Stadium is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Saturday's away day will be the first of three consecutive road matches for the Battery.

Charleston and Pittsburgh will square off for the first time this season. The Battery were undefeated against the Hounds last year, blanking the Pennsylvania outfit 3-0 at home and drawing 0-0 on the road.

Charleston (7W-3L-4D, 25 pts) enter Saturday's contest following a 0-0 draw with Detroit City FC at Patriots Point on Wednesday that was preceded by a three-hour lightning delay. Both defenses held firm throughout the game, leading to the scoreless stalemate. Goalkeeper Trey Muse tallied four saves in his sixth clean sheet of the season.

Pittsburgh (6W-2L-5D, 23 pts) return to their home ground on the heels of a four-game win streak in league play. Their most recent outing was in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Tuesday, where their run concluded with a 3-1 defeat to MLS side FC Cincinnati in the quarterfinal. The Hounds have been among the top teams in the league recently and have shot up the standings to second place.

Trey Muse is a player to keep an eye on for the Battery. The shot-stopper has been an anchor for Charleston this season and will look to add to his shutout total.

Albert Dikwa is one to watch for the Hounds. Dikwa is the talisman for Pittsburgh's offense, with 10 goals across all competitions, and is currently tied for the league lead in goals scored.

AJ Paterson is approaching the century mark for club appearances with Charleston. The skipper currently sits at 98 Battery matches played.

Speaking of century marks, Aidan Apodaca is nearing 100 career matches played in the USL Championship regular season and currently has 99 to his name.

There will be plenty of reunions due from the Pittsburgh squad, as former Battery players DZ Harmon, Patrick Hogan and Burke Fahling will face their former club for the first time.

Leland Archer will be available for selection again after serving a one-match red card suspension stemming from the Indy match.

The weekend fixture will also be the first leg of the supporter-led Old Guard Shield, the annual derby contested between 90s clubs Charleston (1993) and Pittsburgh (1999).
