SALINAS, Calif. - Monterey Bay Football Club (Monterey Bay F.C.) midfielder Rafael Baca and forward Chuy Enríquez visited the 38th annual Asthma Camp hosted by Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare (SVMH) at Monterey Park Elementary School in Salinas, California on Thursday, August 3.

On day four of the week-long camp, the kids took part in swimming activities at the Salinas Aquatic Center before being joined by Baca and Enríquez back at Monterey Park Elementary for pictures, autographs, and a Q&A. SVMH's annual Asthma Camp offers children living with asthma the unique opportunity to learn how to better manage their condition while still experiencing a summer camp environment with other children and adults who understand the impact of asthma.

"It was great to be able to give back to the community - a little bit of what soccer has given to us," said Baca. "To share this moment with these kids, I'm sure it means a lot to them. It's great to be out here with our youth. Hopefully some of our comments and opinions impacted them so they can be motivated and keep moving forward no matter what."

"It's always great for us to come out to these events," said Enríquez. "I appreciate the Club for setting these up for us because we were once in these kids' shoes and it's always exciting to see a professional athlete in front of you. I hope they take this in and use it as motivation to keep going, stay active and stay healthy."
