SEASIDE, California - Monterey Bay F.C. hosts Tampa Bay Rowdies on Breast Cancer Awareness Night at Cardinale Stadium in Week 30 of the 2022 USL Championship regular season on Sunday, October 2, presented by Taylor Farms. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT and can be streamed live on ESPN+.

Match Outlook: Following Tuesday's loss to Las Vegas, Monterey Bay F.C. now needs wins in its final three matches plus outside help to make the playoffs in the club's inaugural season. With just one home match left, a win in this Sunday's fixture with Tampa Bay would be a crucial start to a necessary perfect finish. For Tampa Bay, a result on the weekend would go a long way toward clinching a home playoff match. The side currently sits in third place in the Eastern Conference with 55 points, tied with fourth place Birmingham Legion FC, two points above fifth place Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, four points ahead of sixth place Detroit City FC, and just six points above Miami FC in seventh.

Connections: Tampa Bay Goalkeeper CJ Cochran spent the 2019 season at Fresno FC, who were managed at the time by current Monterey Bay F.C. Sporting Director and Head Coach, Frank Yallop. While with Fresno FC, Cochran was teammates with current Union midfielder Arun Basuljevic. In another connection, Tampa Bay's Robert Castellanos spent the 2018 season at Rio Grande Valley FC with Union defender Kai Greene, while also spending the 2020 RGV season as teammates with Union midfielder James Murphy. Lastly, midfielder Jake Areman spent the 2019-2021 seasons at Charlotte Independence with Crisp and Kelp captain and defender Hugh Roberts.

Additional Notes: In what will be the first all-time regular-season meeting with Eastern Conference side Tampa Bay, the Union will look to finish out the club's regular season home schedule with a win on dual-themed Fan Appreciation Night. Monterey Bay F.C. is 8-5-3 so far this season at home, while the Rowdies are 7-5-4 on the road.
