Lights FC Match Franchise Record Point Tally with Scoreless Draw Against New Mexico
October 1, 2022 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Las Vegas Lights FC News Release
Lights FC hosted New Mexico at Cashman Field, with both teams entering Friday's match at Cashman Field fighting to stay alive in the race for a spot in the USL Championship playoffs.
It was a hard hitting first half, with Las Vegas being called for eight fouls and two yellow cards, while New Mexico had seven fouls.
The first shot on target of the match arrived until the 51st minute of action courtesy of Sergio Rivas from New Mexico, but Lights FC goalkeeper Abraham Romero denied the ball from finding the back of the net.
Romero extended his streak without allowing a goal to 266 minutes with his second straight clean sheet and sixth total of the 2022 season.
With the scoreless draw against New Mexico, Lights FC's point tally this year has increased to 41, matching the franchise's best season in 2019. Las Vegas ended Friday night one point away from the final USL Championship postseason spot in the Western Conference.
