CHANDLER, Arizona - Monterey Bay F.C. travels to Arizona to face Phoenix Rising FC at Phoenix Rising Stadium in its 2022 USL Championship Regular-Season opener on Saturday, March 12. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. PST and can be streamed live on ESPN+.

Connections: Monterey Bay F.C. Sporting Director and Head Coach Frank Yallop spent the 2016-2017 campaigns as the Head Coach and President of Soccer Operations for Phoenix Rising FC. During that time, Yallop coached another Union-Rising connection in forward Chris Cortez. Cortez scored 29 goals in 76 appearances for Rising FC from 2016-2018. In addition, Monterey Bay F.C. goalkeeper Dallas Jaye spent the 2018 season as teammates with Cortez in Phoenix.

Notes: Saturday marks Monterey Bay Football Club's first-ever USL Championship match. In a battle against one of the current Western Conference favorites, the Union will look to kick off its inaugural campaign with an impressive result on the road. Phoenix Rising FC is 70-28-20 all-time as hosts.
