Monster Game by Grider Not Enough in Fargo

FARGO, N.D. - Casio Grider finished 4 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs, but the AirHogs dropped the opener 9-4 in Fargo Tuesday.

Zhu Jinghao (0-2) got the start for the AirHogs, lasting into the fifth while allowing eight hits and seven runs (six earned). He walked three. Reese Gregory (2-1) picked up the win after going five and scattering nine hits and four runs (two earned).

Stewart Ijames led off the top of the first with a double and would score on an RBI base hit by Grider. Fargo roared back from the early 1-0 deficit with six straight runs from the first through the fourth to take a 6-1 lead.

An RBI single to score Ijames by Correlle Prime plus a two-run homer by Grider pulled the AirHogs back within two in the top of the fifth. A two-out, two-RBI double by Steve Zimmerman in the bottom half would take the Fargo lead back to four though.

Devan Ahart, Keury De La Cruz, Leo Pina and Zimmerman all finished with multiple hits for Fargo. The four-hit effort was the first of the season for Grider. The RedHawks outhit the AirHogs 11-10.

Texas (8-26) and Fargo-Moorhead (18-17) meet again tomorrow at 7:02 p.m. RHP Miguel Rosario (1-4, 4.11 ERA) will start for the AirHogs vs. RHP DJ Brown (3-0, 3.22 ERA) for Fargo. A live broadcast of the game will be available at mixlr.com/TXAirHogs.
