LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS

vs. Adirondack (11/14): The Manchester Monarchs were defeated by the Adirondack Phantoms, 4-1, behind former Monarchs center Brayden Schenn's natural hat trick on their third annual Education Day game at Verizon Wireless Arena on Wednesday morning. Right wing Brandon Kozun tallied the lone goal for the Monarchs. Center Garret Roe also scored for the Phantoms in the victory. Monarchs goaltender Martin Jones (6-4-1) took his fourth loss of the season stopping 16-of-20 shots. Monarchs netminder Peter Mannino (1-0-0) made saves on all five shots he faced in relief of Jones following Adirondack's fourth goal. Phantoms goaltender Cal Heeter (4-3-0) earned his fourth victory of the season making 36 saves on 37 shots. Manchester went 0-for-2 on the power play. Adirondack was 2-for-4 with the man advantage.

@ Providence (11/16): The Manchester Monarchs could not overcome two early first period goals and fell to the Providence Bruins, 3-2, at Dunkin' Donuts Center on Friday night. Left wing Marc-Andre Cliche and right wing Brian O'Neill scored for Manchester. Left wing Chris Bourque, center Carter Camper and right wing Jamie Tardif tallied goals for Providence. Monarchs netminder Peter Mannino (1-1-0) took his first loss of the season stopping 28-of-31 shots. Bruins goaltender Niklas Svedberg (5-2-0) earned his fifth victory of the season making 30 saves on 32 shots. Manchester went 0-for-3 on the power play. Providence was 1-for-3 with the man advantage.

@ Bridgeport (11/17): The Manchester Monarchs were shutout by goaltender Anders Nilsson and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, 4-0, at Webster Bank Arena on Saturday night. Defenseman Jon Landry, left wing Nino Niederreiter and center Matt Watkins scored for the Sound Tigers. Monarchs goaltender Martin Jones (6-5-1) took his fifth loss of the season making 25 saves on 29 shots. Nilsson (3-0-0) earned his first shutout and third victory of the season stopping all 25 shots faced. Manchester went 0-for-5 on the power play. Bridgeport went 2-for-5 with the man advantage.

MONARCHS NEWS & NOTES

The Worcester Sharks (7-6-1-1) sit in first place in the Atlantic Division with 16 points. The Manchester Monarchs (7-6-0-1) rank second in the division with 15 points. The Portland Pirates (6-6-1-1) and the St. John's IceCaps (7-8-0-0) are tied for third place in the division with 14 points each. The Providence Bruins (6-7-0-1) are in fifth place in division with 13 points.

The Monarchs are 2-2-0-1 on the road and are 5-4-0-0 at home this season.

The Monarchs are on a three-game losing streak (0-3-0-0).

Manchester is 0-for-22 in their last five games on the power play.

Manchester scored a season-high three power play goals against the IceCaps on Wednesday, November 7.

Right wing Brandon Kozun (5-8=13) leads the team in goals (five), assists (eight) and points (13).

Kozun had a six-game point streak (2-6=8) snapped in a 3-0 loss to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Friday, November 2.

Kozun had a four-game point streak (3-2=5) snapped in a 3-2 loss to the Bruins on Friday, November 16.

Kozun tallied the game-winning goals against the Sharks on Saturday, October 27, against the Binghamton Senators on Sunday, October 28 and the IceCaps on Wednesday, November 7.

Kozun leads the team with three game-winning goals this season.

Center Andrei Loktionov (4-5=9) is tied with right wing Tyler Toffoli (4-3=7) for second on the team with four goals each this season.

Loktionov had a four-game point streak (2-3=5) snapped in a 3-0 loss to the Penguins on Friday, November 2.

Loktionov ranks second on the team with nine points.

Loktionov leads the team and is tied for first in the American Hockey League with two shorthanded goals this season.

Defenseman Slava Voynov (3-5=8) ranks third on the team with eight points.

Voynov's eight points lead team defenseman.

Voynov tallied a goal and an assist in his first multi-point game of the season against the Pirates on Saturday, October 20.

Voynov tallied a shorthanded goal in a 5-1 victory over the Sharks on Saturday, October 27.

Voynov leads the team with 32 shots on goal this season.

Toffoli and defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk (1-6=7) are tied for fourth place on the team with seven points each.

Toffoli had a four-game point streak (2-2=4) from Friday, October 12 through Saturday, October 20.

Toffoli scored his first professional shorthanded goal against the Pirates on October 20.

Bodnarchuk scored his first goal of the season in a 5-2 loss to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Friday, November 9.

Bodnarchuk leads the team in plus/minus with a plus-6. In four games against his former team, Bodnarchuk has registered three assists, five shots and a plus-1 rating versus Providence.

Defenseman David Kolomatis (3-3=6), center Linden Vey (3-3=6), left wing Marc-Andre Cliche (2-4=6), left wing Dwight King (1-5=6) and defenseman Nick Deslauriers (0-6=6) are tied for sixth place on the Monarchs with six points each.

Kolomatis, Voynov, Vey, center Andy Andreoff (3-1=4), left wing Tanner Pearson (3-1=4) are tied for fourth on the team with three goals each.

All three of Kolomatis' goals this season have come when the team was on a power play. His three power play goals lead the team and are tied for 11th in the AHL.

Vey tallied an assist and the game-winning goal against the Pirates on October 20 for his first multi-point game of the season.

King made his season debut with the Monarchs on Saturday, October 27 against the Sharks registering two assists in the game.

Last season, King was recalled by the Los Angeles Kings on February 10, 2012. He appeared in 27 regular season games totaling five goals and nine assists for 14 points. King also appeared in 20 playoff games for Los Angeles totaling five goals and three assists for eight points and 13 penalty minutes.

Cliche had a four-game point streak (1-3=4) snapped in a 3-0 loss to the Penguins on Friday, November 2.

Cliche ranks third on the Monarchs all-time games played list with 298.

Cliche tallied his first goal of the season in a 5-1 victory over the Sharks on Saturday, October 27. The goal was Cliche's 59th goal in a Monarchs uniform. Cliche has scored 60 goals with the Monarchs ranking ninth on the franchise's all-time list.

Cliche ranks ninth on Monarchs all-time points list with 137 and ranks 10th on the franchise's all-time assist list with 77.

Deslauriers is tied with Bodnarchuk for the lead amongst team defensemen with six assists each this season.

Andreoff tallied the game-winning goal at 1:43 of the third period on Opening Night against the Bruins on Friday, October 12.

Pearson made his professional debut with the Monarchs against the Bruins on Friday, October 12.

Pearson registered his first professional goals and points against the Pirates on October 20, registering two goals and an assist in the Monarchs 6-4 victory.

Defenseman Jake Muzzin (0-5=5) is ranked 11th on the team with five points.

Left wing Richard Clune (1-3=4), right wing Stefan Legein (0-4=4), Pearson and Andreoff are tied for 11th on the team with four points each.

Clune leads the team and is tied for 18th in the AHL with 47 penalty minutes.

Clune's 739 penalty minutes rank second on the Monarchs all-time career penalty minutes list.

Legein had a four-game assist and point streak (0-4=4) snapped in a 3-0 loss to the Penguins on Friday, November 2.

Defenseman Thomas Hickey (0-3=3) ranks 16th on the Monarchs with three points.

Hickey tallied his first point of the season, an assist, on the game-winning goal against the Senators on Sunday, October 28.

Center Robbie Czarnik (1-0=1), right wing Brian O'Neill (1-0=1), defenseman Andrew Campbell (0-1=1), left wing Nikolay Prokhorkin (0-1=1) and goaltender Martin Jones (0-1=1) are tied for 17th place on the Monarchs with one point each this season.

Czarnik recorded the first goal by a Monarchs player at the Verizon Wireless Arena for the 2012-13 regular season in a 4-3 defeat to the Bruins on Friday, October 19.

O'Neill scored his first goal of the season in a 3-2 loss against the Bruins on Friday, November 16.

Campbell appeared in his 300th professional game (all with the Monarchs) against the Albany Devils on Saturday, October 13. Camp- bell's 303 games rank second all-time on the Monarchs most games played list.

Campbell did not dress for the Monarchs on Sunday, October 28. It was his first game missed since March 13, 2011. Campbell remains out of the line-up with an upper body injury.

Prokhorkin tallied an assist on Kolomatis' game-winning goal against the Devils on Saturday, October 13. The game also marked Prokhorkin's AHL debut.

Right wing Justin Johnson (0-0=0) made his season debut against the Bruins on Friday, November 16. Defenseman Mike Matczak (0-0=0) made his Monarchs debut against the Sharks on Sunday, November 4.

Left wing David Meckler (0-0=0) made his season debut against the Sharks on Sunday, November 4.

Meckler holds the franchise record for game splayed with 348 in a Monarchs uniform.

Defenseman Vincent LoVerde (0-0=0) made his AHL debut on Saturday, November 12 against the Bruins.

Jones (6-5-1) surrendered a goal at 16:44 of the first period on Friday, November 9 marking his first goal against in 114:03 minutes spanning three games from November 4-9.

Jones has played in 12-of-14 games this season registering a 2.20 goals-against-average, a 0.920 save percentage and stopping 300-of-326 shots attempts.

Jones' 0.920 save percentage and 2.20 goal-against-average rank 16th and 12th best in the league, respectively.

Goaltender Peter Mannino (1-1-0) made his Monarchs debut against his former team, the IceCaps, on Wednesday, November 7. Man- nino allowed one goal in 60 minutes and made 26 saves of 27 shots (.963 save percentage).

This season, Mannino has a 1.82 goal-against-average and a .937 save percentage in three games.
