Amerks Assign Mackenzie and Schiestel to Greenville

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has assigned defensemen Matt MacKenzie and Drew Schiestel to the Greenville Road Warriors of the ECHL.

MacKenzie, (6'1", 182 lbs., 10/15/91) has appeared in nine games with the Amerks this season, recording one assist and 23 penalty minutes. Last season, the native of New Westminster, British Columbia, played in 20 games with the Amerks and five games with Gwinnett of the ECHL. MacKenzie was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Schiestel (6'1", 197 lbs., 4/9/89) has appeared in three games with the Amerks this season. In 159 career AHL games, Schiestel has collected 52 points (8+44) and 75 PIM. Last season, the Hamilton, Ontario, native notched 17 points (2+15) in 59 AHL games. He was selected by the Sabres with the 59th overall pick in the second round of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
