Houston Aeros Assign Montgomery to Allen

Houston, TX - Houston Aeros General Manager Jim Mill announced on Tuesday that defenseman Mike Montgomery has been assigned to the Allen Americans, the Aeros CHL affiliate.

Montgomery has played in two games for the Aeros this season, collecting one assist and a +2 rating. In seven games with the Americans this season, the Minnesota native has one goal and two assists. The second-year pro split last season between Houston and the Ontario Reign of the ECHL. In 35 games with the Aeros, Montgomery scored one goal and set up three others for four points. In 27 games with the Reign, the 26-year old defender scored one goal and added one assist for two points. Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, winning a national championship in 2011.

Prior to returning to home ice, the Aeros will play in San Antonio on Friday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. Houston will host the Abbotsford Heat on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 5:05 p.m. This season every Sunday is a Family Day, where families can purchase a package with parking, four tickets and four Aeros gifts, starting at $54.
